What is different about Speed with Style? We believe that we have the only swim program (that we are aware of) that is based on the latest psychological and neuroscientific understanding of motivation. Having children that are highly motivated, and love their swimming, means that they are having fun, they are more engaged, they learn faster, and thus learn to swim with better technique and faster. Thus our motto is: Have Fun, Learn Fast, Swim Fast. Please see more detailed information in other sections of the website.

What size are your swim classes? We have a policy of having 4 (or less) in a class. This is GUARANTEED, we believe that any more than 4 significantly reduces the effectiveness of the lesson.
-
What age do you teach from?We teach from the age of 4, as this tends to be around the age that the child can hold attention, be engaged, and have the strength to learn swimming correctly.
-
Is your pool indoor and heated?Yes.
-
Do you run lessons all year round?Yes, we take a break over Xmas for 2 weeks, and there is also an allowance for holidays. However, swimming is something that needs to be done continuously, not only for skill retention(we are trying to train their neural pathways) but also for their fitness. If the child loses fitness and some of their neural programming, this reduces the progress.

How good are your instructors? Most of our instructors have been former swimmers with SWS, thus they know very well how we work. Our other instructors have been hand-picked by John (JJ, Head Coach) from instructors he has worked with, and those that have shown the requisite skills and commitment. They are all current or former squad swimmers, so very good swimmers in their own right. We expect more from our instructors than most swim schools, and we pay them well above the industry average to reflect this effort. In addition, all of our instructors are trained by SWS in how to implement the Individual Custom Training (ICT) approach. Your child will have a program individually designed for them and this is constantly reassessed throughout the lesson to optimise their progress. Our highly skilled instructors also like our program, they all genuinely want your kids to improve quickly. Our classes have a maximum of 4 kids, so our instructors can spend more time with each child and make a bigger difference to the child. As we don’t have a level system (see blog for more details) they get to stay longer with the children. The children develop a trusting bond with the instructor, which means that the children are happy to get out of their comfort zones as they know we will support them.
